Song of the Day: Freddie Gibbs - Anything To Survive (feat. Freeway & Adrian)…
Now this is more like it. This shits all over that ‘187 Proof’ song. Beatnick & K-Salaam should really get more placements. I like all the production I’ve heard from them to date.
At this point, I’ve run outta superlatives to describe Gangsta Gibbs’ music. If I have a problem with this song, it’s that he only grants us a single verse. Like Gibbs, Freeway (aka Mr. Never Made A Bad Album) is always welcome on my iPod. Strong showings from both MCs and the visual is halfway decent.
I hope to hear more of this and less of the ‘187 Proof’ type shit on ‘Cold Day In Hell’ (is that title some sort of perverse joke about Young Jeezy’s release date? I kid…). Can’t wait for the next project from either of these guys. Or Jadakiss. Those are my obsessions right now - along with the new Phonte, J.Cole & Evidence albums (buying all 3 - hope Best Buy doesn’t fuck up like they often do).
At least until #NasGawd drops…
