3 Thoughts: Swizz Beats - Street Knock feat ASAP Rocky…
Dope song. Dope video. Dope excuse for a quick and lazy post!
- Product placement for the win! Reebok all over this shit. How much are they paying Swizz to do this shit? I mean, real niggas know that the only cool shit Reebok has ever done is the early AI shit. I still want a pair of “The Questions,” but that’s about it. I’d wear some Reebok shit if it was free or something. Meh.
- Speaking of Allen Iverson, it’s nice to see him looking all healthy and alive in this shit bringing back memories of those old commercials with Jadakiss. That’s great. It probably would have been greater if he still had his cornrows [ll]. AI and Pusha T (basically Virginians) are the only niggas that get a full non-struggle braids passes in 2012.
- Well, that’s not entirely true. ASAP Rocky gets a pass for his shit too. Kid’s just too weird to be subject to the coon rules. Notice that he chose to wear Adidas as opposed to Reebok. See what I mean? Real niggas know that Reebok will never truly prosper again, no matter how many silly industry/lifestyle tie-ins they do (a big and tall line with Rick Rawse? HA!) Niggas should cash those checks though. On the other hand, Adidas has definitely caught some bad PR in the last few weeks with all the serious injuries in the NBA (as if owning Reebok wasn’t bad enough - LOL). But only idiots truly parrot that dumb shit. Mo Rivera was in Nike when he fucked his knee, so fuck that silly logic. But whatever.
Damn it. I want to say one more thing.
4 points it is then. Fuck this “feature.”
It’s nice to hear Araab Muzik morph into a something new by moving beyond those skittish MPC technique fests that he used to give Killa and Vado. This beat and the one he gave to Slaughterhouse suggest some big things in his future. Excited for the guy. Wouldn’t mind hearing either song outchea one of these nights, but that would require leaving my place so I’mma need one of y’all party types to let me know how that works out sometime soon. Thanks…
