Song of the Day: Young Jeezy - What I Do (Just Like That)…
We can all pretend otherwise, but in the WWE-aping world that’s the rap industry, the more vindictive and cynical amongst us were waiting on Rawse’s first week numbers to declare a “victor” of sorts in the non-beef/beef he’s been having with Jeezy post B.M.F.
Well the numbers are in (seems like an objective means to determine the result here) and we have a winner: Jeezy. Not that it was ever in doubt. And yeah, I know my bias is showing but I don’t care. I prefer my rap with as little delusion and diced pineapples as possible. I fux with lobster bisque though. Pause.
Rawse arguably had a bigger buzz and more promo behind his album. Not to mention the synergy from his “successful” label and fewer pushbacks than TM103. Yet, Jeezy topped his first week numbers fairly comfortably. I totally realize that this a really silly and LCD approach to rap fan debate, but that’s what I’ve been reduced to on this fine evening. No one shoots guns at anyone else anymore. The most you can anticipate is a seizure on a lear. Boring shit. Moreover, the quality argument is a subjective thing that varies by the listener. Personally, I prefer TM103 to Rich Forever Redux, but I’m okay with the opposing view given that neither album really set the world on fire.
So I’ll cut this shit short right here and offer my unsolicited congratulations to Young Jeezy on his victory. There’s something to be said for a loyal ass fanbase.
SNOW…
