Juicy J - Can’t Stop Us [Produced By Crazy Mike]…
I certainly wasn’t expecting to hear this sample (if I have to identify it for you, then you oughta quit being a rap fan. Some shit isn’t negotiable) repurposed in this manner. Welcome development if you ask me. Shouts to Crazy Mike on the beat. Shit’s hot and Juicy’s adlibs always enhance a track.
I imagine this is the trippy equivalent of a “freestyle” track. Juiceman just goes in for eons and tucks a bit of a mini-hook at the end to tie it all together. It’s possible that this kind of hookless/unstructured/unformatted track is my favorite kind of rap song - especially when properly executed by a rapper that isn’t known for being traditionally “lyrical” - such as Juicy J or Dom Kennedy (1997 - his best song - again, my opinion).
Here’s to more of the same. Or if that won’t happen, I’ll take the regular shit and collaborations with Taylor Gang/everyone else. Juicy J is on fire right now…
