The Hollies - He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother…
If you paid attention to the beginning of yesterday’s Everton/Newcastle match, you’d have heard this as part of Everton’s nice tribute to the Hillsborough 96. I think this song was accompanied by screens within the stadium showing the victims’ names. Touching shit.
Of course, being the music nerd that I am, I had to go find this song. It truly pains me that I’ll never know every song ever made, but I’m coming to terms with that fact. Sad shit. Anyway, I’m off to learn a bit more about The Hollies - thanks to Wikipedia. I’m already pretty certain they were part of the OG British Invasion and a list of their past members includes the name Graham Nash - THE Graham Nash.
I’m going to have so much fun not sleeping. Justice for the 96…
