PassionWeiss got a nigga working the morning shift outchea.

I guess it’s good that I never really sleep anyway. I hope that for his career’s sake, T.I. isn’t sleeping either. Or maybe he needs more sleep so he can dream up a good single idea.

Or he could just drive that silly tour bus down to Huntsville and spend a day or two with the Block Beattaz. Just a suggestion. The fuck do I know?

You know my steez (c) Mef.

While your President was busy making a social stand (nice and all, but talk about politically expedient - Barack just played a heavy ass chess move, but I’ll chill, you don’t come here for all that), I was busy writing about a different, yet also important social issue: jailbait.

It’s not what you think it is. Or at least I hope not. I just really care. These rappers are the fucking deviants.

The homie Craig goes in on “Roman Reloaded.”

My sentiments exactly.

I quite enjoyed those first 6 or 7 songs. Basically everything before Chris Brown shows up…

You know the drill.

This time, I manage to write about someone I have a bit in common with while revealing none of my self-hatred and tons of my hatred for others. You know, the usual.

Hola,

My first “proper” piece over at PassionWeiss. I spend some time ruminating about shitty jewelry and the audio shackles said jewelry has placed over the populace in the last few months.

Oh? That’s obtuse as fuck? Well, click the link and go figure out what the fuck I’m ranting about this time…

Song of the Day: Trouble - U Don’t Deserve Dat…

I really just wanted to post this shit sans comment, but alas. When they aren’t inventing fake beefs for no good reason, dem DTE boys make some pretty good trap rap shit. That said, I’m not sure if this particular song qualifies as trap rap. Whatever the case is, it’s fucking excellent.

I’m not going to speak to Trouble’s merits as a rapper* (I rate him. He’s better than a lot of the folks outchea right now and he MIGHT be a more enjoyable/marketable listen than Alley Boy - the latter is just so damn gooned out), but this one song is fire. The production, via The Olympicks, has a ton of verve and fits right in with that ATL sound of the moment while sounding pretty unique all at once. And methinks most of us cosign Trouble’s sentiments. Well, maybe not ALL of us. Hoes probably hate songs like this, but they’re usually too dumb to get this simple shit anyway. Beware of the smart hoes though - that’s an indomitable combo. Just saying.

Matter of fact, the only thing I really wanted to write was that someone oughta put some cash behind this shit and push it as a single. Methinks it’s THAT good. But it won’t happen. So do what I did and go cop that “431 Days” mixtape. It’s pretty good. Trouble be rapping…

This shit is really good. Perfect riding music on a Friday evening. Or any other day really.

I don’t understand how this is supposed to be outtakes from the sessions for the OG ‘Premier Politics’ tape if it’s SO MUCH BETTER than Premier Politics. Seriously. The first tape he dropped last year, ‘The Rocks Report’, was excellent, so ‘Premier Politics’ was a pretty huge letdown for me. I was geeked for that shit and it just kinda sucked.

Now this on the other hand is nucking futs. Just a bunch of fly playa talk over great production. Cardo is going to be very rich someday. Those cowbells will take him places. And the production on ‘Hit A Lick’ (shouts to Tye Hill) might be the best thing I’ve heard in 2012. Layer upon layer, each doper than that last. Inventive stuff.

As for Sir Michael, it’s more of the same. Diddy has failed by not signing the kid to a solo deal and trying to repackage him as the new Ma$e/an entirely more tolerable alternative to Drake/Medium Sean/Wale for real niggas and bitches. Then again, Rocks is down with the JETS and that’s gotta count as a win for the fans. The kid sounds like some that knows he’s going to win soon. I agree.

Click the link in the title to cop for the free. Play it while you lay out by the pool or drive to the barbershop today. Nice chaser to the ratchet shit I gave y’all on Thursday…

New Shit: Curren$y - What It Look Like feat. Wale…

New Spitta off that ‘Stoned Immaculate’ project. By the sounds of this shit, it seems as if some real money is going into this project. Rumored production from folks like the Neptunes and this cut sounds buttery as all the fucks outchea. Not that Spitta has been slumming it on cheap sounding beats or anything like that, but this sounds like a bit of a statement of intent if you will. Warner Bros tryna cash in a bit - we know Spitta is already getting fat.

Anyway, I approve. This shit sounds smooth enough and as always, Spitta brings dope bars. Wale’s a strange choice for a feature, not to mention a hook/larger presence on the song than Curren$y, given how much everyone hates that dusty faced philosopher and the fact that he barely does HIS OWN hooks, but I’m chillin. Good music is good music. That said, I’d wanna hear something a little more Curren$y/Jet World centric before the full project drops. Or at least more palatable guests.

Just enjoy this shit…

Big K.R.I.T. - I Got This Here…

KRIT might have one here. It would be nice if this caught on, but I’m not completely sold yet. Then again, I’ve only given it two spins so what do I know?

What I do know is that it’s about fucking time that the general populace learned who the fuck Big KRIT is. The fuckshit is on overload outchea and we need more of this and less of that.

Aight, enjoy the track and your nap…

Song of the Day (Night): Ray Cash - Work (feat. Freddie Gibbs)…

I’m posting this shit because I know for a fact that not enough of you muhfuckas have heard this. I don’t blame y’all either. I kinda found it on accident, but it’s been in the rotation since early February.

Ray Cash disappeared on some random rap shit. I’m assuming that he caught a case or some shit and probably had to start from scratch. So I guess that makes it more typical rap shit than random rap shit. Sheeeeeeit, even Freddie Gibbs had to fall back for a minute before he managed to make a career outta this rap shit.

Anyway, ‘Don King’ is a beast of a mixtape. There isn’t anything on it reminiscent of Ray’s breakout song ‘Bumpin My Music’, but it’s ALL very solid. Some of it is straight up hit material and Mr. Cash hasn’t lost a step on the mic at all. After all, he more than holds his own alongside Gangsta Gibbs on this cut - more via wit and wordplay than technique or lyrics, but I fux with the verse heavy. Add the combined hook and this one’s a winner.

Go get ‘Don King’. You won’t regret it…
